Once More... a farce in many parts. A comedy in others.

I watched this special on

I watched this special on PBS with a certain amount of vindication. As every individual tentacle of the media oligopoly was identified, with an obvious pause for the viewer to go “I didn’t know they owned all that,” I rejoiced. Every public discussion of the omnipresence of the few media companies warms my heart.

The main thrust of the show left me scratching my head, however. Sure, teenagers are being presented with a warped image of themselves, and then emulating it. But am I to believe that ICP and other underground agro-rock bands are the answer? This is a more pure vision of America’s youth? Can I have Britney and (ugh) Tom Greene back, please?
