The last Friday 13th to fall in October did so in 1995, before that, 1986. After this year’s, the next will be in 2006, after that, 2017. So make good use of this one.
Netscape 6 PR3: you’re soaking in it! That is, er, I’m posting in it. It’s passed the most important test, that being that it renders all of my sites the way I expect it to. What more can you ask from a browser, really?
Bitches:
- Memory Hog (capital M, Capital H), but we knew that.
- a:hover seems to be broken, after working in every release for oh, say, a decade.
- There is a small rendition of Duke in my system tray, for some reason. This despite Java being turned off. (First thing I did, natch.)
Really cool shit:
- You can turn off toolbar buttons. Ahh, back, next, reload, stop, location bar, and nothing else. Lovely.
- Someone was listening, rather closely, to Kevin’s September 29th, 8:17 post. Very cool url-completion wizardry going on here.
- The classic skin is actually non-ugly. You can generally tell you’re getting close to release when the eyeball-piercing ugliness starts to fall away.
- It took an hour and a half and three java applets attempting to load before the thing crashed. Yes, you read that right.
