Once More... a farce in many parts. A comedy in others.

Are you one of those rare people, like me, with both a myspace page and a twitter account you bother updating? Want twitter on your myspace page? Or do you just want to put your twitter somewhere that’s not compatible with twitter’s own JSON powered badges? Well, if you have 1) a webhost, and 2) that webhost has php, here is your answer. You can see that code in action on my myspace page. Pretty!

There’s also this thingy if you prefer something with a slightly lower barrier to entry — just put in your username and it works. Though the results are, in my admittedly biased opinion, not as pretty.

wow nice job! i agree, yours is much nicer-looking than mine. in my defence i was trying to more-or-less mimic the size of twitter’s flash badge :P but i doubt i could have come up with something as pretty as yours even if i hadn’t. well done!

i didn’t realize that the flash one doesn’t work on myspace. i never tried it.

(i found this post while doing a technorati search on ‘twitter’)

Thanks! The only reason I went to all the trouble was because I don’t really like the way twitter’s badges look, to tell you the truth.

I’m curious how you managed to get the update data just based upon username, the atom feeds are all based upon arbitrary user numbers. Are you scraping the pages themselves, or is this some feature of the API?

So, I just checked your myspace profile and I don’t see your twitter posts…

    Did you take them down?

Yeah, actually. Myspace is kind of over. I don’t spend near as much time devoted to my profile anymore.
