Yeah, actually. Myspace is kind of over. I don't spend near as much time devoted to my profile anymore.

Not so much, really. Just a matter of changing one xpath query. I do quite like the new player, especially -- flash is used only as the glue to hold the thing together, which is as it should be. :)

cheers! great help! Just wondering, what do you think of their new layout?
I preferred the old one, is it a massive job to re-design the whole page in greasemonkey?

Hi! took the liberty of moving your comment to a more appropriate post. I actually did update the script, and just didn't blog about it. You can re-install from <a href="http://www.rhyley.org/gm/hypeMachineDownloadLinks.user.js" rel="nofollow">the original location</a> to get the update.

Hi!
I'm a massive fan of the user script you made for the hype machine, I was wondering if you could write one for the new design as it breaks the old script.
Cheers

Ha! That may have more to do with my site's undeservedly high pagerank on certain topics. Or maybe it has been superseded by Talk Like a Pirate Day? Geeks make up a lot of holidays, praise Bob.

I have been searching for additional details of an upcoming holiday:
"Day of Lost Data" on October 24th.
Your site was the ONLY reference to this event I could find.
> Thinking about holidays - Posted on October 31st, 2000 /
> Thinking about holidays, I just realized that I forgot to commemorate the
> Day of Lost Data, October 24th, this year. I think that’s bad mojo.
> (October 24th? 10-24? Geek joke, nevermind.)
It seems that not enough of us said our prayers for the lost data over the years which has resulted in the day itself being lost.

Actually, forget that. I looked into a little further, and it turned out to be really easy. The script now works for private/friend/family photos. Re-install from the original location to update.
